Rivanna Trail Maintenance Workday
Time for some trail love! Join the CATs as we spruce up our adopted section of the legendary Rivanna Trail between Fontaine Avenue and Stribling Ave Extension, plus the spur loop around the VA Department of Forestry Building. We'll be clipping back overgrown vegetation and clearing debris to keep these trails in tip-top shape. Preservation of trails is a core part of our mission and just one way we support our amazing local trail network.
Here's the game plan: Rendezvous at the Rivanna Trail Foundation (RTF) Tool Shed (past Bodo's behind the English Inn) at 8:30 AM sharp. We'll gear up, then caravan to the work site. Or feel free to meet us directly at the VA Forestry Building trail section if that's more convenient. We'll knock it all out by 11:30 AM. Wear clothes that can get a little dirty and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Shorts may not be ideal if you'll be wielding a weed trimmer. We'll have tools and gloves available, but bring your own (hand clippers, loppers, saws) if you've got 'em - just label them with your name. Big thanks to the RTF for supplying tools!
Sign up here so we know how many folks to expect. You don't have to be a CATs member to join the fun - all are welcome for this trail-loving good time!
